Sometimes it just feels cool to re-invent the wheel. Just to cook a recipe without any improvisation, just as is has been always is sometimes a pleasure.
Marble Tea Egg is nothing new a recipe. Given that many people have already made this thousand times in their kitchen and of course with variations as per their preferences, I have consulted some of my favourite blogs and books to finally come up with my own set of key ingredients.
I would not make this post a big textual content by describing the whole long process of making this delicacy. Rather I would just mention the key ingredients that I used and they are – Sichuan peppercorn, bay leaf, Chinese five-spice powder, star anise, fennel seeds, cinnamon, ginger juice, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, sugar and of course black tea leaves.
While serving, I liked this as a cold dish with a spoon of premium dark soy sauce.
